1) Please give us your background and let us know what you do for a living.
I spent the first half of my career as an SEO and SEM consultant, working with tech and high growth companies. I then joined agency life and have spent the last 7 years successfully growing omnichannel digital agencies alongside successful client relationships. My first love is paid search and I still invest a lot of time in industry leadership in that space. I’m currently pivoting a large company into performance-based digital services, doing so through acquisitions and organic growth.
2) How do you turn a new or inexperienced employee into a PPC Rock Star?
Firstly, hire well. PPC Rockstars are born as well as made. It takes a unique mindset to be passionate and successful in PPC. Then, set clear expectations, provide an environment where there is no fear of asking questions, a great mentor or peer group, and let them at it! The best PPCers are curious, initiative-taking creative problem solvers with a great eye for detail and a love for statistics.
3) What are your keys for successful client management?
Be real. Developing trust with clients is a mix of sharing your own vulnerabilities as well as calling out theirs. Often the truth hurts but that’s the only way you get anywhere. In addition to that, walk the walk. Deliver on expectations, go above and beyond where you can, and continuously innovate.
