Michael King will be speaking at the “The Switch to Content Marketing Strategy” session at SearchFest 2013 which will be taking place on February 22, 2013 at the Governor Hotel in Portland, Oregon. For more information or to purchase tickets, please click the following link.
1) Please give us your background and let us know what you do for a living.
The short version is I’m a mostly self-taught programmer turned Indie Rapper turned SEO turned Inbound Marketer. I’m the Director of Inbound Marketing at iAcquire which basically means I’m the Director of Marketing for the iAcquire brand and the Director of Digital Strategy for iAcquire clients. I believe in audience-focused SEO and marketing in general.
2) How would you define a “successful” content marketing campaign?
I define success of any digital campaign by how well it completes the client’s business goals and use that as the only measuring stick that matters.
3) Are there any hot trends for content marketing in 2013?
I’m not sure. I’ve been spending a little less time in the content marketing echo chamber. I do hope that we can stop using content marketing as a euphemism for link building though. I would also like to see more content strategy going into people’s content marketing.
