The April 2014 meeting of SEMpdx is going back to basics, and we have a great panel of search marketing professionals to cover SEO 101 and answer any and all questions. As usual, we are having the event on the second Tuesday of the month, with a half hour of networking, then an hour long presentation with Q&A, then another half hour of networking.
Following a formal SEO 101 presentation and after the panelists share their top SEO tips for 2014, we’ll also be doing a live site clinic! Attendees are invited to submit their sites (1 site per attendee) and we’ll be selecting 3 sites for the experts to review during the session! Only registered attendees are eligible to submit a site, so please email events@sempdx.org after you register and we’ll take your site under consideration. We won’t be able to review everyone’s but we’ll do our best to pick a nice representative example of website types.

Alex Peerenboom, Organic Search Strategist at Anvil Media
Alex is the Organic Search Strategist at Anvil Media but almost 5 years of search engine marketing experience ranges from SEO to paid advertising to social media. Alex has worked extensively with small to medium sized businesses that are often looking for that fundamental SEM understanding and help. He has helped clients understand the connection between properly built websites, content and social media and that no success comes without measuring performance through tools like Google Analytics.
Kevin Getch, President & Lead SEO at Webfor
Kevin Getch is the Founder and Lead SEO at Webfor, a full-service digital marketing agency providing search engine optimization, social media marketing, website and logo design. His claim to fame is that his team won the Vancouver Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Business Award in 2013 and he was nominated earlier this year for the small business person of the year award for the state of Washington. When he’s not focusing on helping small businesses grow their brand he’s practicing Jiu Jitsu and spending time with his wife and two kids.

Kevin began his digital dabbling as a freelance website developer, SEM builder, and an SEO critic. He was later classically trained by Gannett and Advance Digital, a Google SMB Premier partner. Kevin currently resides at The Oregonian Media Group and is responsible for local efforts involving OregonLive.com, The Conde Nast Display Network, and 500 additional premier Ad Networks.
Kevin spends his time playing with webmaster tools, URL tags and feedburners. His hobbies include teaching robots (.txt), pulling source code, and burning various flavors of cookies. He also enjoys destroying whiteboards, and building PowerPoints without actual words. Sunday afternoons are spent conceptualizing custom online display targets and complaining about the lack of a new ZMOT study. Learn more about Kevin at www.Kevinbekker.com

Hillary Clinton speaks the same night, if not for that I would love to attend. Sad to miss this, but HIllary wins.
