Steve Gehlen has led Digital strategy, transformation, marketing, and/or eCommerce at some of the most iconic Oregon-based brands, including Nike, Hollywood Video, Oregon Health & Science University, Icebreaker Clothing (North American HQ in Portland), Coastal Farm & Ranch, and Pendleton.

Achieving big changes, often without the authority to do so, Steve will discuss the secrets he has learned for how to manifest Digital innovation across various industries and companies.

The talk will include specific examples from Steve’s work at Nike, Icebreaker Clothing, Pendleton, Hollywood Video, Coastal Farm & Ranch, and Oregon Health & Science University.

Speaker Bio

Starting his career in the mid-90s, Steve Gehlen has led Digital strategy, transformation, and execution at companies such as Nike, Icebreaker Clothing, Pendleton, Coastal Farm & Ranch, Hollywood Entertainment Corp. (dba Hollywood Video), and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He also led B2B marketing for Brandlive and HealthSparq. In 2004 Steve founded the non-profit Internet Strategy Forum, a national professional association for brand-side Digital executives, with over 1,500 members in 5 chapters around the U.S. Steve recruited Board members from Intel, Disney, VISA, NBC/Universal, and IBM. Steve was the Chairman and producer of Cre8con: The Portland Creative Conference from 2008 – 2019. The event brought top creatives across a variety of industries to Portland to discuss their creative process. He is also the founder of Keeping the Arts, a non-profit that gives money to youth arts education programs in Oregon.

There is a small parking on on-site, but don’t expect there to be any available spots. Metered street parking is available around the venue ($2.00/hour until 7:00 pm). The Portland Streetcar stops 3 blocks south on NW Northrup, and several bus stops are also in the area.
